The project consists of the construction of a new three storey office and computer facility on the grounds of the existing Hewlett Packard site at Ballybrit Business Park in Galway City. The building is approximately 89,000 sq ft. The design strategy provides accommodation in the wings which rotate around a central core, this provides a sculptural dynamic to the form while ensuring that internal usage is efficient. We have strived to provide a design which not only meets the briefing criteria and adjacency requirements, but one which provides sensible future variations within the organisation, allows for shorter circulation distances between work zones, reducing individual isolation, spill out zones for office interaction, cross stimulation of ideas and an enhanced user experience. The architectural materials are restrained with clean simple modern lines, which enhance and invigorate the surrounding environment. Delivering a LEED Accredited Building which is stimulating, unique and a high quality piece of architecture which meets and provides scope for the future demands of Hewlett Packard.
